Island Hospital located in Anacortes and recognized as a Top 5 hospital in Washington State for quality care, is actively seeking an experienced Director of Emergency Svcs to lead our active Emergency department!

The Director of Emergency oversees the operations of Island Hospital’s Trauma Level III designated Emergency Department. This position will be responsible for staffing, training, performance management, compliance and fiscal management of departmental assets, and implementing and evaluating quality improvement plans, including but not limited to, work process standards and performance goals to ensure optimal service delivery and patient care.

Candidates must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with Physicians, leadership, clinical staff and support staff to provide an optimal care experience for patients and their families. Candidates must be able to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgement, discretion and decision-making, with the ability to provide direction and development and must be able to demonstrate an attitude consistent with the hospital’s mission, vision and values.

A minimum of five (5) years clinical experience in an emergency department setting, with previous leadership experience required. Candidates must maintain a Registered Nurse license issued by the WA Department of Health, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS or ENPC certifications. Must obtain TNCC certification within 12 months of employment. Completion of a BSN degree strongly preferred, along with advanced national certification encouraged.
