The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is one of the most respected medical schools in the world, as large and complex as it is accomplished. With its revenues, assets and endowment totaling approximately $4 billion, its finances are also complex, requiring expert management and leadership. We are currently seeking a Controller with deep and broad experience, and the highest ethical standards, to play a key leadership role in the financial administration of the DGSOM.
As Controller, you will be responsible for the internal controls, risk assessment, compliance and financial reporting for every facet of the organization. Assuring the integrity of all practices and full adherence to regulations is an essential requirement of this role. Equally important will be the leadership of the team that supports you, with their professional standards and development among your highest priorities.
For consideration, you must have a Bachelors and/or Masters degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting and CPA certification. Ideally, you will also have at least 7 years in the accounting or finance sector, including Big Four or national firm auditing experience. At least 5 years in managing accountants and a comprehensive understanding of GAAP, GASB and SAS 115 are strongly preferred. Experience in a higher education or non-profit environment would be most helpful.
