Director of Public Health Nursing, Merced, CA
Under general direction, to develop, organize, coordinate and manage budgetary, operational and staffing aspects of public health nursing programs; to plan, organize, schedule, assign and supervise the work of staff providing public health services; to advise staff on the interpretation and application of Agency and program policies and public health laws; and to do other related work, as required.
This is a senior management classification with responsibility for developing, organizing, and managing major public health programs, and the work of public health staff assigned to those programs. This class is distinguished from the Program Manager or Supervising Public Health Nurse by its responsibility to plan and coordinate across programs to support budget development and monitoring, and program development, evaluation and implementation. This position functions as the Director of Public Health Nursing as required by the California Administrative Code.
Three (3) years experience in a position with the responsibility for organizing and directing the work of others. (A Master's degree in Nursing, or a closely related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience).
Graduation from an accredited four (4) year college or university with a degree in nursing or a closely related field.
Possession of a valid California Registered Nurse license.
Possession of a valid California Public Health Nurse Certificate issued by the State Department of Health.
Possession of a valid California Driver's license.
