The Compliance Officer will report to the Vice President of Planning, serving as Northwest Kidney Center’s (NKC) subject matter expert for all compliance and privacy related topics. The position will develop and have oversight for the organization’s compliance program (education, training, investigations, audits) and will act as the representative to internal and external groups on compliance and privacy related matters. The position manages day-to day operations of the compliance program, works with the Board Compliance committee and completes audits/reviews in conjunction with organization’s leadership and creates/refines policies and procedures.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business or related field; Five years of experience in healthcare with oversight of privacy, HIPAA and compliance programs; Excellent communication with all levels in the organization including Board members; understanding of healthcare operations, financial, quality assurance and human resources procedures/regulations; strong facility with report generation and databases; background in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, fraud and abuse laws and investigation/analytical abilities. Master’s degree and professional certification in healthcare compliance and/or privacy (CHPC or CHPS). Experience in kidney dialysis preferred.
