Mental Health Registered Nurse – Residential and Outpatient (Grants Pass)
Full-time RN (32 – 40 hrs/wk) or part-time (20 hrs/wk); Day and Evening Shifts (no over-nights). The RN provides and coordinates medical services and facilitates mental health rehabilitation interventions and necessary supports to assist individuals with mental illness and substance abuse problems. Plans and performs professional duties to assist in delivering services, including life coordinating admissions and discharges, medication administration, communicating with primary care providers, nursing assessments, and skills training and psychosocial to people with chronic mental illness. May work in both residential and outpatient settings.
The Registered Nurse facilitates mental health rehabilitation interventions and necessary supports to assist clients to achieve their recovery goals following evidence-based practices. Promotes the physical and mental health of clients by applying the nursing processes. Clarifies orders including, where relevant, hospital discharge medication orders, and contacts the psychiatrist to review the client’s status and medication plans. Participates in the development and update of individual treatment plans in collaboration with the treatment team and clients, as appropriate. Provides guidance to non-medical personnel related to medical and psychiatric practices and concerns, within RN scope of practice and experience. May occasionally transport clients to facilitate client-directed services.
Experience working with mental health clients and co-occurring disorders, such as substance abuse, preferred. Unrestricted, valid Oregon license as a Registered Nurse required, BSN a plus; official transcript will be required of finalists. Computer proficiency required to use Electronic Health Record System. Must be able to handle frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Must pass state-required criminal history and DMV checks; possess valid OR driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required.
