As the Director of Adult Inpatient Medical/Surgical Nursing, you will be responsible for the clinical, fiscal, human resources, materials management, and communication operations of multiple medical/surgical units within UCLA Health. This important role involves oversight of both the administrative and the clinical areas.

Qualifications

We're seeking an exceptional nursing leader with a California RN license, a strong background in medical/surgical nursing and:
Master's degree in Nursing or a BSN with a Master's Degree in a related health care field.
Five years of progressive line management experience.
Nurse Executive Board Certified or equivalent.
Proven success in improving the patient experience and clinical outcomes.
The ability to develop, maintain and evaluate data collection systems in support of the nursing practice and the delivery of excellent patient care.
A passion for promoting evidenced-based nursing care and best practices in medical/surgical nursing.
The ability to actively evaluate process improvement for all quality measures.
Current knowledge of management practices, institutional policies, change within the health care environment.
Understanding of benchmarks and performance at comparable organizations.
The ability to enhance the professional development of peers and colleagues
Prior experience with Joint Commission and CMS and Magnet surveys preferred.
